Journalism Shaped by Data: How Do Audience Metrics Affect Journalists’ and Audiences’ Notions of Each Other?

This qualitative research project investigates, firstly in an ethnographic study, how audience metrics are featured in the everyday newsroom practices at Iltalehti. Secondly, it studies how audiences perceive datafication as a feature of their news diets. Thirdly, it brings journalists and audience participants together to discuss datafication and its impact on journalism.
