The power of major technology firms has grown markedly, as the significance of digital platforms as fundamental infrastructures has grown. The attributes of these platforms and their regulation also shapes the operational environment of the media and shapes the boundaries of the freedom of speech. The Big Tech and the EU (BIT) project studies the role of major tech firms in shaping the politics of the EU at a time when important new rules are being drafted in this field.
