This project focuses on hate speech targeted on experts and policy makers, such as journalists, politicians, officers and researchers. We produce new information about the extent of the phenomenon and its possible effects on decision making and public debate. We also study the scope of existing legal protection and make suggestions on how the legislation should change in order to provide more effective protection against hateful speech without compromising the value of freedom of expression.
